Administration
My name is Adam Cohen, and I am excited to join the LME family this year as your Assistant Principal. I am originally from Brooklyn, New York, but I have proudly called Alexandria my home for the past 15 years. I am passionate about building positive relationships with the teachers, students, and community.
I have over 21 years of experience in education with 12 years of classroom experience, and 9 years as a Master teacher. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. I enjoy cheering on my favorite baseball team, the New York Mets!
My name is Laura Wheeler, and I am proud to be the Lead Teacher this year at Lessie Moore. I was born and raised in Catahoula parish, and I attended ULM and graduated in 2009 with my undergraduate degree. I attended LC and graduated in 2014 with my Masters Degree. Throughout my last 15 years of teaching, I have taught grades 3-10 ELA and Social Studies. This is my first year as Lead Teacher, and I’m excited for this new journey ahead.
I am the proud wife of a fellow Rapides Parish Teacher. Jason and I are the proud parents of two rambunctious little boys, Gideon and Lincoln. I am also the human mom to three dogs and two cats! My house is always busy! My goal as Lead teacher is to help grow our teachers and grow our students to achieve their goals for the school year.
Mrs. Brady has welcomed families to Lessie Moore for almost 30 years. She is always willing to help people and show extra kindness. We are so lucky to have Mrs. Shelia!
